I have news. I'm back to blogging only I've relocated. Since I got hitched I think its only right for me to be using a blog for both of us. I've only got one post up so far of wedding pictures and there are more to come. Hopefully I'll be more dedicated at getting my posts up. Click here to see the new blog.
I'll miss my first blog but in the words of Tom Petty, "Its time to move on".
Love you all!
A Day At The Beach
The other day the we all went to the beach. We went to two actually - Hug point and Canon Beach. Surprisingly I got pretty burned. I didn't think that happened much on the Oregon Coast but it was such a nice day. Chrissy, Mike's sister taught me how to surf. I wasn't great but it was so fun.
This is little Parker on the car ride there.
A view of haystack rock.
This is me trying to stand up on the long board. I think I made it about half way before I crashed.
Bridal Showers

So I'm sitting there surrounded by friends and family, opening the much needed gifts and thinking "man, I could get used to this." I felt as excited as a little girl at a birthday party. My bridal showers were the great and I had so much fun at each of them. After all not many brides get three bridal showers. I feel so blessed to have such good friends and family. Here are some pictures:
Steph and Me. She was such a great help at the shower my mom threw for me. There were a lot of people there and Steph made sure they were all fed.
Some of the Samaria gang.
My mom helping everyone paint dish cloths. She had them do that instead of games and it was a hit. Thanks mom!
My friends from home threw me a great shower. It was so good to see all of them, especially since it was the same day that I moved up to Washington. I love each of these girls so much and miss them like crazy!
It was at Meagan's house and she did the greatest job. The food was awesome and she decorated so cute.
Mikey's family threw me a wonderful shower. I got to meet a lot of people and spend time with his sisters, who have been so good to me. I'm so excited to gain three more sisters. Julie made the cake in the picture above from towels and ribbon.
Nicole, who I met on my mission in Nebraska, now lives in the Northwest. That pretty much makes us neighbors! I was so excited because she got to come to the shower. It had been a while since I last saw her so it was nice to catch up.Thanks to everyone to helped and came!
Happy Everything

Happy Birthday to me! I celebrated this birthday in Washington. Mikey took me to dinner and gave me stuff to sport on the honeymoon...get your mind out of the gutter, sheesh...what I mean is sunglasses, a hat, and a bag for the beach.
Happy Independence Day! Mikey and I actually went back to Idaho for the fourth. It was our little bargain: I move to Vancouver early in exchange for Malad's fourth of July celebration. This is the only picture I took, oddly enough. It is up Gardner Canyon. Mikey and I seem to be making a tradition of 4-wheeling up there on the fourth.
Happy Wedding Day! My friend Erin got married. It was a beautiful day and we had a lot of fun. Erin looked amazing.
Changes

I have an announcement...
I have decided to move to Washington!
My motivation: I miss Mikey.
He moved up there right after he graduated. I thought I would tough it out and stay in Utah for the whole summer. I would then move there the day before our wedding in August. Well things have changed and I'm packing my bags and heading up there in a little over two weeks.
A part of me is really sad to be leaving Utah. I'm going to miss so many of my friends and (this is sad) so many different places to eat. What will I do without JDawgs, Cafe Rio, and Kneaders? Probably lose a few pounds...
The other part of me is very excited to move forward and be with Mike.
To Washington or bust!
Sneak Peak
Want a sneak peak of some our engagement photos? Click here. We did them in Malad, ID. It was so windy, but Adrianne did a great job. Tell me what your favorite is - we may just take your advice on which one to use for the invitations.
A New Little Niece
I just can't help myself, I have to post these pictures of Tressa's new baby. Her name is Ella Josephine and she was born yesterday, April 18th at 7:30am. I don't know how soon I'll get to meet this little one but I'm really looking forward to it. As you can imagine the whole family is so excited for her arrival.

Another Visit To See Miss Belle

I don't get much time to post on my blog but I thought I would take a minute to post some pics of my recent visit to see my little niece. As usual my goal was to ensure my position as her favorite auntie. I think I was pretty successful considering I brought all the right gifts, chased her around plenty, and made all the funny faces I could, just to get a few giggles out of her. My sister is expecting another little one, so Belle thought it was funny to act like her mom and put a ball in her shirt.

ps Wedding planning is going great, in fact I think I like it a little too much. so far I've got the dress, the cake, and the date. Its going to be a blast!
Our Story

Well as you may or may not know I just got engaged and I can't stop smiling about it. It happened on Friday the 13th. We're just an unconventional couple. I was totally surprised. We hadn't gone ring shopping or anything. What happened was Mikey called me on the Monday before and told me we had been invited to go to a nice dinner in Park City with for his buddies company dinner. I bought it and was mainly concerned about what to wear because he told me it was a really fancy restaurant up in the mountains and the only way up is by a sleigh, pulled by a snow cat. Dressing fancy and warm was a concern and all that I could puzzle over. I kept asking for his friend's fiancee's number so I could call her and see what she would be wearing. Mikey just laughed and wouldn't give me her number (I found out later it was because she wasn't even going). Thursday came. I was at work when a dozen roses came from Mikey. The note said they were just a pre-Valentine's Day gift. Friday he picked me up and we headed to Park City. On the way he broke the news that it really wasn't for a company dinner but that it was just for us. He thought I would be mad, but I was just impressed that he had kept that from me. I still had no clue what was coming at this point. So we get to the place and hop on this sleigh that is literally for like 30 people. It was incredible. It was about a 45 minute ride. We pulled up to the restaurant which was this adorable norwegian yurt with no running water or electricity. Everything was brought in by snowmobiles and the place was lit up by lanterns. There were two wood burning stoves and even a grand piano. For the bathroom there was an outhouse outside but you better believe it was the nicest outhouse I had ever seen with a container of hot water to wash and all. After our main course Mikey said he wanted to go outside to take some pictures. He seemed pretty determined so I went along. While we out looking around he got up the courage, knelt down, and asked me to marry him. I was in so much shock I just kept yelling, "What are you doing? What are you doing?" It felt like I was dreaming or something where you don't know quite what going on. Mikey said I did manage to get my hand out of my glove and ready for the ring pretty quick. He knelt there for awhile because he didn't want to get up until I spit out the word yes. When we walked back into the yurt everyone started cheering for us. I turned bright red. Appearantly I was the only one who didn't know about the proposal. Mikey did a really great job and gave me a story I love to tell.
So There's our story. I think Mikey tells it better. We don't have a wedding date yet but it will be sometime in the fall. We're very excited and hope to see you there on our big day.
Calling all fans of Boy Meets World

I would just like to announce that yesterday I had the privilege of seeing Mr. Feeny from the hit TV show of my adolescence, Boy Meets World. I can't tell you the joy this moment brought me. It was just up at the Sundance Film Festival. I've actually seen a few up there the past few years such as Michael Keaton, Jared Leto, Trevor Morgan, Julia Stiles, the arm of Jennifer Aniston, James Spader (the rich snob in Pretty in Pink), and Crispin Glover (the dad in Back to the Future). I'm not bragging I'm just trying to prove that I'm one of those nerdy people that get very excited when they see famous people. Anyway while I was excited to see an appendage of Aniston or Leto's dreamy eyes, nothing made me happier then seeing William Daniels, better known as Mr. Feeny or K.I.T.T. in Knight Rider. Oh, and he also plays a mean John Adams in the movie 1776. I'd never know that if it weren't for my government teacher at MHS...thank you Mr. Evans.
Buying New Underwear

I haven't really felt like a dedicated blogger these last couple of weeks. Things have been moving so quickly and that's probably why I haven't taken time to document anything. When I say moving, I literally mean moving. I've moved twice since the new year began (long story). I started a new semester at school and a new job which makes me a little stressed but I'm loving it all so much. At one point I realized I wasn't taking time to do some of the essential tasks (don't worry, I found time to shower) like do laundry. Because of this I came to a certain conclusion: you know you're too busy if, when running to the end of your clean underwear supply, you are tempted to just go out and buy a package of new underwear instead of doing the laundry. It's definitely a sign of being too busy...or just being lazy.
What my Christmas Stands For:
C is for...Chocolates
I got to make chocolates with Mikey's mom and it was delish but surprisingly hard to do.

H is for...Heading To the Movies
The Holidays tend to lead my family to the features or to our own movie collection. I have to admit I may have watched more than ten movies over the break. Some of them include: White Christmas, Australia, Four Christmas, Seven Pounds, Click, Jumper, The Women, The Grinch, Home Alone, Sydney White, and Totoro. I know these are some crazy flicks but I had some major down time. What's a girl to do.
R is for...Rising Above Portland
We took the gondola up to see the OHSU campus (where I'd really like to go to PA School) and also got some great views of the city. Oh did I mention I got to go to Portland/Vancouver with Mikey to spend time with his family. I had a great time.

I is for...Ice on the Plane
I had a terrible time getting home from Washington because of bad weather and canceled flights. I thought I wasn't going to make it home for Christmas, but then Mikey saved the day by finding me a flight. It was one with two layovers, one in Vegas, then in Denver, then finally to Salt Lake, but it did the job. 14 hours later I was home in one piece, but baggage-less. It made for a good story and adventure. What can ya do but roll with the punches?
S is for...Soaking at Lava Hot Springs
This is of me and Steph right after a nice dip. Lava is just up the road from Malad and such a cute town.

T is for...Temple Square
Its one of my favorite things to do and if you haven't done it you should. All you do is walk around Temple Square (during the month of December) and check out the lights and Christmas displays.
M is for...Mikey and Melissa, of course
Another photo from the gondola PS We can't seem to agree on the pronounciation of the word gondola although I know I'm right in how I say it.
A is for...A Huge Mess
This is our living room after opening presents. It was a delightful mess.
S is for...Snow!

Holiday Post
So every day I think to myself that I really need to post something but then I can't really think of what to post. I've decided today is the day I will finally come up with something brilliant...or maybe I'll just fill my life and what's been going on recently.
What made up my Thanksgiving Break:
What made up my Thanksgiving Break:
1)Flags for some good cheesy fries. This place to any outside eye would seem like just a regular truck stop but to those who know it better know it as a great hang out for maladites...maladians...oh you get the point.
2)Your typical thanksgiving dinner. Don't worry, the cheesy fries weren't for the acutal thanksgiving feast. My mom whipped up a fabulous meal as always. This is the best photo I got at the table.
3)Boise, Idaho because my dad is a crazy boise state fan and there was a game the next day.

3)Boise, Idaho because my dad is a crazy boise state fan and there was a game the next day.4)Black Friday shopping. I was ever so frightened to do it because I never had but it turned out to be totally worth it. But I learned a few things and that was to never buy a candy bar from a fabric store and to always head to the movie bins (office season 3 for $13.00, woohoo).
O Christmas Tree
So I kept telling Mikey I wanted to put up my little Christmas tree but there's no room at my place, and I'm never there anyway. The only thing that made sense was to put it up at his place. He didn't seem to keen on the idea. I begged and pleaded but to my dismay I didn't think it was going to happen. Well a couple days later I walked in his place and found this little tree (predecorations). He surprized me and put it up proving he was no Christmas scrooge.

O Wendover
I recently made my first trip to Wendover. As my brother-in-law, Tim, would ask, "ain't you got no shame girl". It was a lot of fun as obvious from my expression (yikes).

New Job
As for other news, I just got a new job as a medical assistant and really ecstatic about it. I'm sad to be leaving my reception job but ready to experience something new.
Dang Phone!
I'm just letting you all know that my phone decided to break on me. It's only the 2nd time this year that this same model broke on me, so I'm not to happy about it. I even thought about it. I even thought I should put a picture of this particular type of phone on my blog just to warn you not to ever ever purchase one, but I thought that might be a little much. Anyway, to reach me you can email me or find me on facebook til next week or so.
Still Here At Work
Bet you thought I was done with blogging for the day. No, not quite. I just found this video that makes me laugh. It's from my mission at the Henry Doorly Zoo and is of one of my companions as she runs up to the window of the monkey's domain and catches an unsuspecting chimp.
Hehe! That's good stuff.
Wow, am I bored or what?
Hehe! That's good stuff.
Wow, am I bored or what?
Today at work
So I'm here at the health center (where I work) the day before thanksgiving. Work is calmer than ever. No on is in Provo. So now I ask...Why am I still here and not in Idaho? I love work and I love this fine college town, but I'm a little anxious to get my holiday started.
Well that's about as grateful as I can get. :) In about six and half hours I'll be the freeway heading to my Idaho. Oh and I won't be heading along. I'll be carpooling with this little guy.
.....
I just read my first paragraph and realized its full of complaint. This is certainly no way to get my holiday started, expecially considering its the holiday of gratitude. To cure this, I'll do what any dutiful blogger should do during this blessed holiday, and blog about what I'm thankful for. But lets add a twist; I will call this blog:
Why I'm Thankful For The Student Health Center On The Day Before Thanksgiving:
- The fabulous fellow reception squad members: they type with speed and accuacy, schedule appointments in a flash, get even the naughtiest child with a nasty cough to wear a face mask, and all of this is done with a smile.
- The cheese ball and crackers in the phone room - thank you Megan
- MSN messenger - so I can send secret messages to my coworkers even when we're setting four feet apart. It makes me look busy in those slow moments.
- The loads of time i've had to do homework...oh wait, I'm not doing homework right now.
- The intellectual disscussions about Twilight that i have with Erika and Heather. "So what did you think of the movie?" "I loved the dynamics of the characters....blah blah blah." We are like thirteen year olds trying to hold a book club meeting, but we love it.
- Fresca from the vending machines.
- Friendly customers who chat with me about their plans for tomorrow.
Here's the story, my cousin's wife bought the dog but didn't know how to get it home. I'm closest to its home so I get to be the transporter of this special holiday delivery. My one concern is that is poops in my car. My mom's ingenious idea was to tie a plastic bag to its butt. I don't know if I'll be doing that, mostly because I don't want a call from the humane society.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Oh Wow…Best Forward Ever
So I’m not really one for forwards but today I received one from my little sister and it made my day. It holds so much truth and I laughed at every comment on it. I don’t know who originally wrote it, but to whomever it was I give you full credit. You are genius.
